"Authoritative Begging" witnessed in Velachery Vijayanagar Terminus
Today whilst connecting at Vijayanagar to Guindy whilst commuting at Tambaram, I had a chance to witness a beggar who was having some leg infection and had tied some cloth on it. He was using a support stick to help his mobility. He was seeking alms to everyone. Whilst this is a common scenario in Chennai the most disgusting part was that if the prospective donor that he was approaching was turning down his request, he started to shower expletives on each of the persons individually before moving to the next one. Most of them just were ignoring his deeds.
I think he should have great humility first rather than being an authoritiative on begging, what we call in Tamil as அதிகாரப்பிச்சை. Furthermore, the cops were mute spectators of this despite the fact that he was spreading infection through the stagnant water with his... (more)
preacher314 the advent wreath
The Advent wreath. This simple
arrangement consists of four
candles set equidistant in a circle
of evergreens, with a larger fifth
candle placed in the middle. On
the first Sunday of Advent, one
candle is lit, on the second Sunday,
two candles, and so on. Finally,
on Christmas Eve, we light the
Christ candle in the middle.
Usually, three of the outer candles
are purple, the liturgical color of
Advent that signifies both penitence
and royalty, but the candle for the
third Sunday is rose-colored, denoting
the theme of joy. The Christ candle is
white. The circle suggests eternity, the
greens symbolize life, and the cross
of lighted candles points to Christ.
In ancient northern cultures, the
lighting of bonfires and yule logs
was meant to ward off the midwinter
darkness and its sinister denizens.
So it is easy to see how Christians
combined the greenery of life and
the candles of light into the Advent
wreath. By lighting a new candle
each week, by accumulating... (more)
Jamroo After SPM. 1
So sorry for those who haven't finished their SPM,I'm now talking about life after SPM. Just being irritating. (I typed this on 10th December and left it undone until now.)Before I finished my SPM,I thought of doing a lot of things after SPM,I even had a whole perfect plan, which I planned so perfectly not to waste any minute of my life. That's not easy, now when the time really comes,I find nothing I can do. Easier said than done. This phrase always describes me the best, lousy procrastinator. Well, leaving the matter of after-SPM-plan aside, first and foremost I'm here writing in my blog to thank all my teachers. It feels like,in the twinkling of an eye,5 years of secondary school life ended, and I actually did nothing. I mean anything a good student should have done.
Teachers who have taught me in my secondary school life, thank you.#1 Cik Siti Raudhah (F4 form teacher & Add Maths teacher)She was a neophyte in teaching when we first knew her, thought we could... (more)
dearxinxin He weaves their riverbank life
Kenneth Grahame - Biography and Works, Toad talked big about all he was going to do in the days to come, while stars grew fuller and larger all around them, and a yellow moon, appearing suddenly and silently from nowhere in particular, came to keep them company and listen to their talk. At last they turned in to their little bunks in the cart; and Toad, kicking out his legs, sleepily said, "Well, good night, you fellows! This is the real life for a gentleman! Detroit Red Wings for men
Talk about your old river!" Ch. 2Mr. Toad, Ratty, Mr. Badger, and Mole are among the many creatures and characters who inhabit Grahame's version of Victorian era England. He weaves their riverbank life and many adventures in magical yet universally appealing style. Grahame was well-esteemed during his career with the Bank of England, which had started in 1879 and culminated in his being appointed Secretary at the age of thirty-nine. During these almost twenty years he also grew to be a respected writer,... (more)
cobby It،¯s the period of full HD
1080p is the shorthand name for a category of HDTV video modes.
